Arin McIntosh is a eighteen year old honor student at Mitchell High School. There she participates in many extra curricular activities including the basketball team, volleyball team and serves on the student council. Even with all of these activities, her primary interest lies in race cars.
Arin started racing at the age of eleven. Her debut appearance was at Bakersfield Raceway Park in Linton, Indiana. She competed there in a 250cc Micro Sprint, which she went on to drive for the following two and a half years. Miss McIntosh showed her self and spectators alike that she was very competitive by finishing second in the National Modified Midget Association (NMMA) points in 2002 at the age of thirteen.
After this accomplishment, she moved into the 600cc Micro Sprints in 2003. In this highly competitive class, Arin showed great accomplishment by winning the Rookie of the Year Award in the North American Auto Racing Series (NAMARS) and fourth in over all points.
In 2004, Miss McIntosh returned to the NMMA in her 600cc Micro Sprint, this year also with much success. She won the region twenty championship and also finished fourth in the over all national point standings.
2005 was an exciting season for Arin, as she broadened her racing experiences. She continued to race her 600cc Micro Sprint, while making a debut appearance in a USAC Ford Focus Midget, a Formula 500, and a 410 Sprint car. In preparing herself for all of these new forms of racing, Arin attended the prestigious Skip Barber Driving School at Road America in Wisconsin. July saw her racing in the ultra competitive United States Auto Club (USAC) Ford Focus Midget Series, with her best finish of second in the prestigious Belleville Nationals. During this same period, she climbed into a rear engine Formula 500 car at Mid Ohio Sports Car Course for two races, with a best finish of fourth place. In October, Arin jumped at the opportunity to race Richard Briscoe’s 410 sprint car at both Bloomington and Lawrenceburg Speedways, two highly competitive Indiana race tracks. This experience went so well and looked so promising for young Arin, she now has her own sprint car ready for the 2006 season! With the 2005 season winding down, young Arin has many accomplishments for the year. Miss McIntosh won the non-wing Micro Sprint 600cc track Championship at Bakersfield Raceway Park, and placed second in the United Micro Sprint Racing Association national point standings.
During Arin’s career, she has won thirty-two feature races along with two championships. She has defiantly proven herself to be a winner in everything she does on and off the track. She has set her goals high for the 2006 season. She wants to win her first sprint car feature, while striving to win Rookie of the Year honors at Bloomington Speedway and the Midwest Sprint Car Series. She is very excited about the goals and is dedicated to reaching them. She can not wait to see what the future holds!
Miss McIntosh wants to share her racing success and winning attitude with others by committing to raising money and awareness for the Victory Junction Gang Camp in North Carolina. She intends to accomplish this goal by donating her winnings from every race during the 2006 season to Victory Junction. This camp is a retreat for children with serious illnesses and she hopes her efforts will inspire other to contribute to this camp as well.
